A newly refurbished church
National RIBA Award for Church Refurbishment
We are proud to announce that we have now won a National RIBA (Royal Institute of British) for the refurbishment of the church, as well as the regional award, which we won a month ago. Congratulations to all who have contributed - and continue to contribute - to our Regeneration Project.
A new tabernacle
The new tabernacle has been installed and was blessed by Bishop Michael.
It’s made of cast iron - like the halo above the altar - to give a connection to the original iron church which was built on this spot when the friars first moved here is 1903. It was inspired by pillars found in ruins of ancient buildings like those found in the Roman forum
