Through baptism, you or your child receive the Holy Spirit and become a member of the Church.
Initial enquiries regarding your child's Baptism can be made through the Parish Office.
Please fill our Baptism Information Form. The Parish Office will be in touch very soon after receiving your enquiry.
Enquiries should be no less than six weeks before the baptism date.
Baptisms take place twice a month on Saturdays at 1.30pm.
If you do not normally worship at St. Augustine's, we will also need a letter of consent from the priest of the church where you attend Sunday Mass.
The Parish Priest, or one of the parish team, will lead one Baptism preparation meeting held in the evening to discuss the meaning of the Sacrament and the nature of the ceremony. Please bre-book through the parish office.
Choosing a name for your child is very personal, but please bear in mind that a child should have a Saint's name as part of his or her Christian identity.
You may have as many as four Godparents, although it is normal Catholic practice for a child to have one Godfather and one Godmother. At least one godparent must be a practising Catholic.
We are grateful for any contribution you can make to our church. A donation can be made using the Gift-aid form (available for UK tax-payers). Cheques should be made out to 'St Augustine's Church'.
Should you have any queries about the baptism service, please contact the Parish Office.
If you are an adult willing to receive Baptism, please contact the ABC group.
