Our Parish Primary school
Staff and governors are all deeply committed to a caring Christian approach to the children and their learning and we recognise that we are all part of the Christian community of St. Augustine’s parish. It is essential to maximise each child’s potential, that we all work in co-operation with each other, and to that end parental involvement is positively encouraged here.

At Larmenier and Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School "...Pupils receive a Catholic education that is second to none. They have an excellent experience of the Faith and of Catholic traditions. ... Worship and prayer are central to the life of the school and this is clearly evident in the vibrant yet nurturing environment and respectful ethos. ... The rich curriculum, exceptionally well informed by the Curriculum Directory, engages pupils excellently in their learning." Section 48 Inspection Report, July 2014
Our vision ‘Aspiring to Greatness’ is lived by each member of our community. This vision is based on high expectations for all.
Our mission ‘Growing in God’s love and care’ ensures that we learn together, valuing the uniqueness of each individual.
We are a thriving Catholic community in the heart of Brook Green, which is founded on core Christian values. We work closely with parents, governors and our parish to support our children as they ‘Aspire to Greatness’.
As the children grow, we place great importance on ensuring they are well equipped with the skills they need for everyday life.
St Thomas of Canterbury is first and foremost a Catholic school and this ethos underpins everything that we do – “Jesus is at the heart of everything we think, do and say.” Through this approach we are able to develop the whole child; academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally. In this way, our children leave St Thomas’ ready for the next stage of their education, developing them into lifelong learners.
We are a vibrant, Catholic primary school, which offers every child, regardless of their starting point or ability, the opportunities that they are divinely entitled to. As the head teacher, it is my mission to ensure that we educate the 'whole child'. We do this by offering an exciting, creative curriculum that captures the children's imagination and inspires them. We search for excellence in everything we do; this is driven by our collective belief that each child, through the help of the Holy Spirit, is capable of great things.
The outstanding education offered to children at St John XXIII Catholic Primary School means that all children can use God given their talents to the best of their abilities. I would like to build upon the strong home, school and parish links to ensure our community grows from strength to strength with all partners working together for the good of our children. Decisions are made with the good of each child at the centre of all we do. As a school, we look forward to sharing this period of your child’s life with you.

The school is founded on the values, ethos and traditions of the Society of the Sacred Heart and part of a worldwide network of schools around the world. Pupils and staff benefit enormously from our global links as part of exchanges and networks. The school has a 330-year tradition of contributing to the education of women and became a Sacred Heart school in 1893.
We are determined to draw out and develop the aptitudes and talents of all our pupils. At the heart of the School lies our Catholic ethos, which underpins everything we do. Quite simply, we see our principal role, as a Catholic school, to be a seed-ground for the apostolic mission of the Church. The School aims, through its commitment to Catholic teaching, to prepare our pupils to undertake their responsibilities as Catholics in society. Working in partnership with parents, we aim to foster in our pupils a love for the Church which will help them to grow and develop as they make their way through life.
