This will be the final newsletter as we go into summer-mode.
We’ve had a momentous parish year. We started by moving out of the church to do the refurbishment. We end it by receiving both regional and national RIBA awards for the work.
We had the dedication of the new altar by Cardinal Vincent Nichols, followed by two ordinations to the priesthood of two of our Augustinians, Fr Gladson Dabre and Fr Arthur Bolivar.
We have also seen other changes in our Augustinian community, as Bishop Michael Campbell has returned and Fr Robert Marsh has left to go to Clare Priory. Plus there are other friars, Fr Marcial and Fr Francis are currently helping us out. Although we say thank you and goodbye to Fr Marcial as he now returns to Spain.
We’ve continued to raise money, very generously, for the Regeneration Project - the order has to decide now on two possible schemes. I will keep you all posted.
We’ve continued with all the other events, sacramental courses and activities of the parish.
Thank you - all of you - for being a part of this wonderful family at St Augustine’s. I hope you all get some kind of a rest and time for renewal over the rest of the summer.
God bless you all!

The handing on of the faith—evange-lisation to use a technical term—is the task of everyone in the church today: family members, catechists, pastoral workers, the ordained. It is our great challenge and the one thing necessary. And yet, who dares today to take up such a role? Our Gospel portrays key dimensions: the sense of being sent or called, the choice of life-style based on that of Jesus, the confidence to face not being made welcome and yet to continue for the sake of the joy of the Gospel.
